A friend of mine posted a bunch of 'em on another website.

Not all are "SFW".

No. But she couldn’t NOT tell me. Her son is getting me a plasma screen monitor, and maybe a new keyboard and mouse! But I have to wait for Christmas to get them.

That’s OK.
I’m not at work, but when I am, it’s my place anyway, so, no worries.
I’ll check it out.
Thanks.

Plasma... yuck. They eventually suffer the same kind of "screen burn in" that phosphor TV CRT's did.
LCD or DLP. Bulbs are going to be pricey for a while, but luckily they are a lot more robust than earlier models.

I guess she felt sorry for me, and was trying to figure out how to make it all work. Then her son got a job with Office Depot, so the rest of it was easy.
So tomorrow morning, I’m going to be busy tearing down the system and taking the old desk outside. I don’t know how long it will take to get the rest of it done, but I may not be online until afternoon.
And I can hardly wait for Tuesday! Then I’ll put this monitor up on freecycle.com to get rid of it. The desk isn’t worth it.

Meijers? Sounds like Dutch for Meyers. I don’t remember much about Lake Orion — it’s only been 50 years since we lived there.

I seldom have my desktop showing for more than three minutes, as I have a screensaver that changes every 20 seconds, and a new desktop every 24 hours.
But I always get things when they become affordable, usually when the latest thing is hitting the market with a vengeance. But it’s OK.
If I had a job that required something else, I’m sure I would have top-of-the-line, and all the newest gadgets.

I would have made do with what I have until I couldn’t any more. Then I would have actively sought “new” stuff. This is better, though.
I wanted a small camper shell for my truck, and kept calling around, looking at ads and checking freecycle. When I about gave up, there it was, on freecycle. I was the only person who called about it. :o]

A very wise man said that. I may use it for a tagline at a later date.

Did you see the post today about the lady in NO who was whining about her living conditions?

No, but I’m not surprised. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, and an old truck that runs circles around my daughter’s newer car. What would I do with new stuff? Bigger stuff? More expensive stuff?
My insurance rates would skyrocket, my mortage would be astronominal, my utilities would kill me, I’d be in a different tax bracket...nah...I’ll stick with what I have!

Fairly lively thread today.
A hefty shout-out to Grellis. Nice to see a new face now and then. (Not that there’s anything wrong with the old ‘face, of course.)
