AND! You got 2200!!!
W00t!
Yep, this country is nothing if not diverse in scenery. I think lots of it is extremely breath-taking, but very little of it is where I’d like to live. I’ve lived in enough different parts of it to know I’m where I need to be. :o])
Huh...didn't work. Just pushed me off to the side.
And, apparently, makes the scroll go somewhat wonky.
Nevada was gorgeous! So different that Michigan. If I had to do it all over again, I’d skip the 2-3 hours I spent in Vegas to see a little more of the state. Having a beer at Denny’s was pretty cool, though...can’t do that here!
Not only can you have a beer at Denny’s but you can have champagne at Applebee’s! LOL! And if you are on the Strip, you can have your “beer to go.”
Nevada is very diverse. The northern part of the state is quite unlike the southern. One city in the center section is actually a volcano caldera. Don’t think I’d want to live there....;o]
Now let's see if I can figure out how to close the tags...
I DID IT!!!
I'm off to celebrate with a hot cuppa sumpin!
COOL! Congratulations!
I drink chocolate-raspberry cocoa when I want something hot. It’s much better for my mouth than coffee...;o]
So flat I'll never forget the day I thought something was wrong with my bicycle -- it was suddenly a whole lot harder to pedal. After inspection, I realized it must have been because I was riding uphill.
When the family moved to the SF Bay Area I hated it -- I couldn't see what weather was coming until it was practically on top of us.
I've never made it across the bridge; hope to next year.
Vernor's -- a couple of years ago my wife surprised me by bringing home a six-pack of Vernor's. The "local" (it's 5 miles away, but still the nearest) supermarket carries it now (not much, though). It had been over 3 decades since I'd last had a Vernor's.
Good apples. Out here they're all Washington or New Zealand apples. And they're lousy.
Springtime (okay, not a staple). Seattle has the world's best summers, but Michigan the best springtime.
At least a few weeks! When I was 12, my father outfitted our VW bus for camping (slept everyone but me -- I got a tent) and we took several weeks, driving south to Chattanooga (where my grandparents lived) then west to New Mexico, Arizona, Disneyland, then north to Seattle (my only memory of that was a freeway rest stop -- very green and heavy rain, actually unusual that time of year, I've learned since), then east along the upper border to Wisconsin (to visit my aunt), then a ferry across Lake Michigan towards home.
That ferry ride was amazing, by itself. Hours and hours with no sight of land.
Huh! I don't know if the Dennys' here serve beer. My strangest was finding beer at McDonalds -- in Germany.
Where’d everyone go?
I’ve never been to Michigan.
Wal-mart.
And the bank. OldTax-lady sent us a ton of money (she's clearing her estate). Now I won't have to finance the new washer after Christmas!
That’s so good about getting a new washer, and being able to pay cash! That’s my preferred method, of course.
My friend’s mother cleared her estate, and he gets the house here. She also gave him a “ton of money” at the time, so he did some things to the house and got some things he wanted.
She turned 80 in October, and had a minor stroke last year, so she’s afraid to come out here again. Hopefully, she’ll do it after the first of the year. I’d like to see her, and I can’t afford to fly to Boston.
Busy. Trying to coordinate a meet-up with the Realtor, the inspections guy, getting some actual work done, ect...
I’m busy, too. Trying to decide whether to slide my new desk to the left or the right...when do I assemble it...how big of a mess will I make....you know...really important stuff.
</ sarc >
It sounds like you need an assembly crew! Wish I could send Bill and Tom over.
I will discuss with Der Prinz what to do with the money after we get the washer. I’d sure like to get the charge bill paid off, and if we use some of this windfall plus the tax refund, it will be.
Thanks for the loan of the boys! This one seems to be quite simple to assemble, unlike the current one. The new one is “no tools needed,” so my toolbox may remain untouched.
I have to move it left three feet or right one foot, in order to put the small bookcase in place. I’m thinking it will probably go left.
My daughter brought the new one over yesterday, as my early Christmas present. Her youngest son turned 18, so the two of them took to day off. He works at Office Depot, so he got the discounts. He brought the desk in (57 pounds) by himself, arms at chest level. I had no idea....
(I traded him a pocket-carrier for his m&m’s. It looks like an m&m, and was filled with them. It’s his favorite food!)
I took the desk out of the box last night and read through the destruction book, so I think I’m good to go. I’ll tackle it tomorrow, I think.
Mine happens to be about 2 tons of server equipment I need to haul up to the 5th floor...
