Love those front loaders though. Our washer/dryer is still only a few years old. Assuming they survived the trip up from Texas in functional condition, we probably won't bother to replace them.
Don't they have one that uses some kind of steam? Supposedly works quite well...
Yes, they have a steam cleaner. I don’t think I need to go *that* high-end.
My washer, purchased in 1996, when we only had 2 children, is nearing the end. Vasily said the parts that need replacing would cost more than a new washer. Since we’re in a drought, I like the water usage on the front loaders: 14 gallons per load, vs. 60 gallons on a similar capacity top loader!
We bought commercial grade appliances the first time around. figured it’d last us longer. Been pretty happy with them so far.
I have on two pairs of socks, a sweatshirt, longies, and jeans; I’m perched in front of a heater for my legs, I have a small heater to my left, and the furnace is set to 68.
I’ll sure be glad to see 100’s again. *sigh*
It’s 37.
Global warming is hitting the Midwest pretty hard, and will hit New England by the weekend.
The problem is that the weather prognosticators try to appease Al Gore, instead of using common sense.
I hope you warm up soon. *HUG*
I saw where the weather in your neck of the woods will be nice “one more day” and then all heck will break loose. We’ll see...
I would have been on much earlier, but the computer just didn’t want to go online. I spent two hours trying to make it work, then said, “Bunk it,” and went to the post office.
‘Bout froze my barnacles off. BUT! I now know it’s about time to replace the battery in the truck.
Front loaders are the way to go. More expensive, but more water efficient and cleans clothes better. My next washer will be a front loader.
Only one pair of socks...
And yes, I’m wearing long pants today.
Do you have a humidifier?
No...I used to, but with all the lime and calcium in the water here, they only last about a year.
Off to Chino once again.
Another load of stuff, and I have to pick up some material for a job on the way.
See Ya!
We’re up to 4. Only 20 more to go in order to match the prognosticators guess.
I haven’t been watching the forecast. I’d better get out to run while it’s nice today!
Any filter options you could look at?
I have a PuR filter on the faucet, but even with that, I have to clean the humidifier thingys periodically. The mineral deposits are really bad, here.
Which is why I never drink tap water when I go out to eat!
I hope your good weather lasts. The rest of the country is getting pounded!
Later!
LOL!
Send that bad boy to FL! No one cares if he’s a few degrees off, there!
I shoulda looked closer at the label on the stuff I poured in there. Ain't gonna make that mistake again.
Yep. I well remember the “winterizing” we had to do in that climate. My late father-in-law used to have a heated dip stick for his car, in SD.
I have no clue how they do things in AK.
Planning on block heaters and remote start systems for both cars once I have my own garage to work on them in...
