John Williams, reknowned American composer and conductor and five-time Academy Award winner will conduct Americas orchestra, the Boston Pops, in the playing of the Star Spangled Banner prior to Game One. Recording artist Ashanti, will sing God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch.
Yastrzemski, who amassed 3,419 hits and 452 home runs in a 23-year major league career, will be joined by manager Dick Williams and 20 players from the 1967 Impossible Dream Red Sox: Mike Andrews, Gary Bell, Dennis Bennett, Darrell Brandon, Galen Cisco, Hank Fischer, Russ Gibson, Dalton Jones, Bill Landis, Jim Landis, Jim Lonborg, Dave Morehead, Jerry Moses, Rico Petrocelli, Bill Rohr, Jose Santiago, Norm Siebern, Lee Stange, Jerry Stephenson, and George Thomas. Richie Conigliaro, the brother of the late Tony Conigliaro, will also participate in the pre-game ceremony.
There will also be a flyover from the 158 Fighter Wing of the Vermont National Guard.
