I often wondered if that explains Daniels happiness just before he died. And that he felt excluded from his family after the baby was born.
i am so sorry to hear your news. As someone on the receiving side, sotospeak, I can at least give the perspective that, once the decision is made, there may well be some false peace, temporary as it may be. But there are always warning signs, for quite some time prior and, quite often, several 'trial run s' - along with calls to family and friends (and ex's) for admonishment or forgiveness, none of which have been reported as occurring with DS. Suicidals regain bonds with family not for the peace, but to assure someone will mourn, will hurt. so that 'peace' is actually hostility in disguise.
Suicide is almost never spontaneous. suicidals,, in their narcissism, *need* witnesses to their perceived misery - someone they can alert, someone they know will mourn for them and suffer as they perceive they themselves suffer. It's part of the selfishness of suicide [for reasons other than medical] and a pretty consistent pattern in suicidals. We must not forget that the last time Vicki saw Daniel would have been in June (trip to Levy) and it was only September when DL was born, with DS with his mom at least some of the time she was stateside still in NC. Hardly a long 'estrangement', a word bandied about freely by some parties. DS knew only money kept him from exposing his mother's exploiters. He would not have given up so easily on his own mother's future with only money as an obstacle. IMO
I will never buy the 'accidental suicide' or 'accidental overdose' verdict about a young man who traveled with none of the drugs that caused his demise. We cannot forget if there were drugs in the room accessible to Daniel someone had to have made him aware they were there and accessible, and, left him alone to his own devices to obtain them - 22-remaining-pills in his stomach worth from someone who had no documented (to us) evidence of illicit drug use much less abuse, only heresay from an obviously biased self-interested testimant who had no cross-examination.
The stories bandied about concerning DS don't wash well in daylight for anyone with an iq above 120. We must forgive our English cousins - after all, they haven't prevailed in any intelligent matters since about 1912 (or for that matter since George VI. -I can say that, I'm english!! lol)
