Barrelhouse is a songtitle BUT it's also a music genre. A very obscure music genre at that. It's some form of fast blues piano music from what i have gathered.
Thing is, my dad has been looking for the song for a long time. 'Nuther problem. The song goes waaay back and was recorded by many people. So i took him to the used record store and we listened to many version of barrelhouse (which may be spelled barrellhouse too). He didn't recognize any of them. The closest we found was when one of "us" found a Chubby Checker version which my dad said might be it. (Sorry, i've forgotten again who found that version. please remind me. you know who you are)We must be getting warm. It's probably from the '40's or '50's.

I’m not sure this is it, but once we were discussing “Beerbarrel”, and I asked if it could be the “Beerbarrel Polka” which is an old song with a fast beat. However, I don’t think Chubby Checkers recorded it. I know Lawrence Welk’s orchestra played it with one of his piano players...maybe JoAnn Castle.
