I’ve never had to be in a hospital bed (thank goodness) but are they set up differently to provide support when doing chest compressions? Or is there something that they put under the person to do that?

If a code is called, you’d roll them on their side and put a ‘backboard’ underneath them (then roll them back) to get the ‘resistance’ needed to make compressions effective. In the home, or in a hotel, the only recourse is the floor. moo

If you wanna demonstrate this on yourself, have a buddy push down on your upper arm or upper leg while on a bed, then go to the floor and have them do it again - you’ll definitely notice the difference!
