Thanks for your info.

As difficult as it appears for people to accept the reality of the situation (and I firmly believe it’s because it has never been portrayed accurately in the press), Anna’s baby was conceived via in vitro fertilization. Accept it as fact, and move on. This is apparently one of those sticking points I was alluding to when I said people are arguing over something that, ultimately, does not matter (I don’t think) when trying to understand what happened to Dan and Anna.

My reason for bringing it up here, though, is that more than half of America is under the impression that Larry and Anna had a sexual relationship that resulted in the birth of that little girl. The word “father” connotes different meanings, and the type of father Larry is promoting himself as, and profiting from, isn’t the case. The the child were born out of a loving and intimate relationship, as Larry portrays she was, I’d leave it alone. But Larry’s sperm specimen was one among a half-dozen or so that Anna chose.

Additionally, Larry entered an agreement with Anna similar to that which men must enter into when giving specimens to sperm banks—i.e., forfeiture of future claims of paternity. If Howard is holding anything over Larry’s head, especially in regard to securing executorship for himself, it is probably this signed agreement. In my mind, it’s a pretty big deal.

Now, I like Larry. I just think he’s gone off the deep end. Money has a way of doing that, when it all comes at once. I don’t like what he has become. I would have thought that being a father would have superseded the allure of money and he would have settled down. Instead, I see him using Dannielynn more as a prop, and that infuriates me. That was Anna’s baby. She gave Dannielynn life. And for Larry to treat the little girl as nothing more than a bouncing bundle of dough kills me.

But I know Larry. His conscience will get the better of him and he will come around. He’s a good guy, if not impulsive and prone to act on his emotions before thinking things through.

As for the contents of the hard drive of the PC Howard used for images. Let me start off by saying that there is more than two PCs and it can be confusing when trying to identify them. All of the PCs were Anna’s. Anna kept one, primarily for her own use and, in CA, it was kept in her bedroom. But Howard used all of the others. Only he would know which one he used for what.

But I do know that he keeps one solely for storing media files, which includes videos, sound recordings, and photographs. On top of that, I know he uses a web-based host to upload his files to and also to download from. I watched him using it several times. And the things that I mentioned, sex videos, etc., were there.

As for the crushed methadone. This is what I was told by someone (I’ll call him Witness) who was there, in the hospital room, before the police had secured the area. And there was a good chunk of time before the room was cordoned off and evidence was taken away:

There was a plastic cup and a napkin in the wastebasket next to the second bed. Those were the only items in the wastebasket. Looking down into the wastebasket, the witness said he saw what looked like a fine, white powder residue on the bottom of the cup.

On the counter around the sink, in the crevasse where the sink meets the counter, there were more traces of the white powder. Later, after the police had arrived, the Witness noticed that the wastebasket was empty, including the plastic liner. Plus, the sink counter had been cleaned thoroughly. All traces of the white powder were gone.

The Witness does not know if the police were the ones who took the plastic cup or if an aide or some employee of the hospital wiped down the counter. But neither of those scenarios makes sense to me. Why would anyone at the hospital suddenly decide it was time to clean the room? And the police didn’t start collecting evidence until after the room was closed off, and they closely monitored who and what entered and left the room.

And then the pills were found in the second bed, one of which turned out to be methadone. If Howard brought in the methadone for Anna (because she said the hospital’s painkillers were enough to take away the pain), and she was perfectly capable of swallowing pills, why the plastic cup with the residue on the bottom? Why use the plastic cup to crush the pills, if they were meant for Anna.

And let’s just take that tack for a moment: Suppose Howard did crush the pills and put it in Anna’s drink, per her request. Could Dan have drunk her drink? No way! Dan was well aware of his mother’s habits of putting things in her drinks and would not drink out of any container she was using.

The Witness also said that, from as far as he could tell, the police had removed all of the remaining food containers and cups. He could not say whether any had been taken away before the police gathered them up.

Two other things strike me as odd. Some contend that Dan may have taken his own life and that he purposefully acquired Anna’s methadone to kill himself. That flies in the face of logic when you consider that Dan suddenly questioned why he was feeling so tired. I understand that Howard was the one to make that statement, but it has never been clear as to what time of the night or early morning that Dan said that. Plus, at the time of his death, Dan swore he was clean.

Finally, the other thing that I find odd is that Howard supposedly left the hospital sometime after midnight to go get more food, according to one of the nurses on Anna ward. But he returned empty handed.

In hindsight, we were so overcome with grief and anger that we were willing to nail anyone against the wall. Despite my own personal beliefs, I’m glad that the inquest will ultimately happen and that we may finally get all those doubts and suspicions put away once and for good.

I thought tonight Ben Thompson told Craig they did not secure the room but maybe they did after they where gone out of the room..Who Knows.
