Happens every year -- Yanks overtake the Sox in the Dog Days. Nine straight division titles. Fans of both teams expect it, and they're always right. This year, however, will be particularly brutal for the RS Nation.

14.5

Ain’t gonna happen and even if it did would not be devastating. Tigers almost blew a 14 game lead last year. In fact the Yankees had a 14 game lead on the Sox in 2003 and Boston got to within 2 games of the Yankees in September. Yanks will stay close and fade by mid-September. Their pitching still sucks.

"You Red Sox fans are nothing if not amusing. Blowing a 14.5 game lead and then losing to the division to the Yanks wouldn't be devasting? lol....maybe if you keep repeating that ridiculous mantra enough you'll actually start to believe it. The Yanks' 10th straight division title is in the bag. 1978, Part 2. ." ~Lazarus Longer

Exactly how does that "in the bag" thing work?

Long live the Curse of the Hildebeast!!
