Morning - checking in, got power, wet, slushy, scattered outages in the metro. Stay safe y’all.
Is “circadian rhythm disturbance” on your list of reasons to not do the show next year?
Heh...good thinkin’.
Just wet roads on the way into werk this morning. Still, I took mostly the town route to avoid bridges and overpasses.
Are you anywhere near the burning tree?
I think it's covered under #52 - Too hard on Luke and #72 - Family Health.
I keep tellin’ the Mrs. that we’re editing Christmas decorations. Even the Stormhands Holiday Extravaganza (TM) is getting some editing this year.
But when I said “do you trust me to sort through this and give the extra to Goodwill” she couldn’t bring herself to say yes.
‘course she’s out of town ‘til Friday...
That's how certain people's offices get cleaned around here. I've had to participate twice. It was terrifying both times.
It’s very wet here. Seems like roads are currently ok though, not sure as we got up late and haven’t made it out the door yet.
Yeah we’ve done some of that with Rasputin’s office.
Mrs. knows I’m on a rampage at the house and am ready to clear out all the junk. She’s just hesitant to let some Christmas stuff go that might have a special meaning. So I’m just going to sort it into piles and say “can this stuff go to Goodwill?”
We collect Santas, so we have dozens. Jr. gets a new Nutcracker every year for Christmas and Luke gets a new snowglobe. Unfortunately, family members now think they collect them and have started buying them for them as well.
But somewhere along the line we started getting a collection of snowmen and other assorted stuff.
Our house just isn’t big enough for all of this frap. And I don’t want to move to a house that is.
Though it must be said that a good move is conducive to purging frap...
Well, there’s that.
Um, what burning tree? I’ve had the radio on and haven’t heard anything about a burning tree. Our pear tree isn’t looking too good right now; parts of it may end up as a ‘burning tree’ next winter....LSA
In other news, I'm picking a fight about the ignorant Maryland accent just to spice up my morning.
Heh...I worked with a guy from Maryland for awhile when I was in the Air Force. I dunno if his accent was typical, but he did say a few words in strange ways. We used to try to work “trunk” and “junk” into conversations just to get him to say them.
Dude you’re freaking me out! That’s a scene straight from my annual appraisal last week! *shudder*
Oh dear...
Ha! Too funny...
My Mom (who basically had a Michigan / Chicago area accent) went to Maryville (pronounced Murvle) College in Tennessee for a semester or two. She said kids used to get her to, for example, say “Hi” over and over and laugh at her, because to them, it sounded like “Hoi”.
Meanwhile, they all had strong Tennessee accents. ;-)
