Youre both in the same part of this great countryBoth Ohio, but I think Farmer is on the West side of the State. I am in the North East, close to PA line.
Hay is anywhere from $2.50 to $3.00/bale. Not sure if that is last years or not. It has been raining all over the State. We use about 400 bales with four head and feed hay year round.
I heard of a couple of horses that were left, at one of the horsemans camps. That's crazy!

I’m not sure what happened but I’m glad you are ok.

I'm in northern Ashland county, zip code 44880.If I can help anyone with some hay-let me know.people are trying to get rid of horses all over the place.I just had a hay customer of mine give me a quarter horse this year.Nice little foundation mare out of New Mexico, about 5 years old.She came to him with an implanted Arab embryo. He paid 35K for the embryo and a thousand bucks deposit for the mare.He liked the mare and didn't want to send her back so he asked me if I wanted her.Beckie(my wife) said it was up to me,so I asked Dan how much he wanted and he said just give her a good home! She settled right in,claimed the number 2 position in the herd.My mare Star is not going to give up that number one spot.So we're back to 7 in the barn, about 2 years after I lost my beloved mare Maggie.
