Good Morning.

My friend who has the show Appaloosas, lost her weaning filly. She broke her shoulder at the trainers and had to be put down. The trainer had went to get her out of the stall and she reared up and came down on the hay rack. She had not been there that long and was still spooky in her new surroundings. The trainer felt awful and paid for the vet and burial. He was going to compensate my friend for her lost, but she refused.

Oh gosh, how sad. I feel bad for both the trainer and your friend, I’m glad it sounds like at least they are not at odds over it.

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry to hear this. We lost a weanling filly several years ago for the same reason - there just isn’t anything that can be done. Our filly slipped and fell on the ice (we think). Please give her my condolences.

Oh, my gosh, that's horrible news!

Sometimes horses just do stuff. We had a new horse at our barn break the crossties and run in a panic down the barn aisle, rear, slip on the concrete and flip over landing full on her head. Fractured skull, severe brain injury. There was nothing anybody could do.
