BladeRider and Amy and Kari and I did something horsey today! We drove down to the other side of Birmingham and road at Oak Mountain State Park. It was a little over a 2 hour drive for Kari and I a little less than that for BladeRider. BladeRider was the only one to have been there before so it was a treat for the rest of us. It was very pretty and they had trails everywhere. We stayed lost half the time. The trails were VERY wooded and hilly, but didn't have all the big rocks that we have in our forest. And the forest floor there was about as clear as I've ever seen. Almost no undergrowth at all, but then it IS winter so I'm sure it will look very different in the summer. I don't know how far we rode, but I guess we rode for 5 hours, 6 if you count our lunch break. So it was worth the drive. Here's the few pics that I took. Hopefully BladeRider has some more and I'm sure Kari took some too. She'll probably e-mail them to me tomorrow so I'll post them too if she does.

This was part of the barn complex at the park stables...

One of the boarding barns there. They also rent horses...

Amy on Shane out front, followed by BladeRider...

The lake that we rode all around...
