So are you going to have him pull Bay's shoes the next time? I'm going to have them pulled off of all of mine come November because if my track record of the last several years holds true, I never do much riding from Thanksgiving on through December anyways. But come January it's Katy bar the door and everybody gets shod again. We do some of our best riding between January and March while the leaves are off. There's a few places that you can only see your way to get there during that time when the leaves are off. "The Narrows", with the huge cliff shelter, is one of them. I always look forward to going back there...
I want to take BladeRider and Elizabeth there and let them see it for themselves. It's just awesome. And if we get a ticket for riding someplace we're not supposed to be it'll still have been worth it.
Yeah - we just never got the hang of this summer, and I have some regrets about not making a point of going, especially if, God forbid, something happens and Bay can’t go next year. I don’t predict that, but we can’t always predict these things.
On the other hand, it’s a relief to just declare summer over so I can focus on getting prepared to have a winter we are ready for no matter what. I’ve got winter/preparedness/emergency planning on my mind.
I don’t know on Bay’s shoes what we’ll do. There are differences in him with them on. He plays more, which makes me think he must be more comfortable and carefree with them on. He didn’t limp barefoot, but he didn’t prance around either.
Also the farrier thinks he’s making better ‘progress’ on Bay’s distortion with them on. He thought Bay’s foot shape might have taken a step back barefoot.
But it depends on the bungus. If it gets bad again, I’ll pull them for a cycle.
I would like to see that cave when I come, so I guess I’ll have to come in January!
