Hey, Frog, I’m almost embarrassed to ask you this because I’m sure it’s something I should know, but I don’t:) What kind of gaited horses are your horses:)?

I’ve been telling people about you all coming and bringing your gaited horses, and they all ask what kind, and I just don’t have a clue other then their gaited:)

Becky

I guess you could say that mine are Racking Horses since that’s how they’re registered (the ones that are). But most Racking Horses really come from Walking bloodlines that just weren’t good enough at the head-nodding walk and racked instead. Racking is frowned upon in the Walking Horse circles. Plus the Walking Horse books are closed, so the only way to get one is to have two registered parents. But the Racking Horse books are still open to comissioning. So as long as the horse can demonstrate a smooth 4-beat gait to the comissioner, they can be registered as a Racking Horse. I really don’t care how they’re registered since I don’t show, but some people do. All I want is a nice-looking smooth-going trail horse and I’ll be happy.
