She is a registered TB, nicely conformed (if you like that swan-like -- or snake-like -- TB neck) and has the most equable temperament of any horse I've ever had much to do with. She also adjusts her behavior to her rider -- last Tuesday the Special Olympics people were using her and they were a little bit concerned when they saw us doing a 3' hunter course in the ring about 30 minutes before their session (she DOES love to jump). But of course she was as good as gold with the little kid.
It’s nice to see your horse has worked out so good for you. This will be our third rescue in 6 years.I really didn’t need another horse, but the thought of her going back to maybe be sold in a killer auction was just too much.So here we go again, gonna see what kind of horse she becomes when she knows her home is secure and she has people that really care about her. Some people should never own horses, that’s why we rescued Rosie the pony.Rosie was used as a therapy pony for handicapped children until she foundered.Instead of fixing her problem, they just threw her away like she was nothing.By the time we got her her feet were hopeless. We’ve been able to avoid further founder by watching her diet, and our farrier trims her every 6 weeks. She’s never going to be right but she enjoys the life she has.
