Friday morning, she had broken out of her stall overnight and when she stood, she would stomp her back legs like she was trying to shake something off. She was not interested in food. We had her tied out on Saturday morning and she ate some grass, but it was really hard for her to walk. We called the vet and he said to continue the penicillin and to give her bute.
By Sunday morning she was down and could not get up. The vet came out and said that she had a heart murmur and the blood was not circulating in her legs. She did not have a fever, but her heart was very weak and her respirations were very rapid. There was not anything we could do for her.
Alison is heartbroken, but I am so glad she took her to the fair this year as a second project and had so much fun with her. She was a great pony and will be missed very much.
This was costume class with Tubby as a spider. They won funnest.
Alison also showed her in cart classes, winning a few ribbons.
I am so sorry about Tubby. We are all having such difficult times right now, I can’t get over it. The costume is sooo cute, Alison must have been very proud. Y’all are so creative, I would have never thought of that.
The Saddle Club needs some good news.
Oh dear, I’m sorry about Tubby, what an odd collection of symptoms, I can’t figure that out. Poor Alison, bless her heart.
I’m so sorry.
I’m so sorry about Tubby. Please tell Alison for me. It’s heartbreaking for all.
