Alison did very well, she won Circuit Championship in Showmanship and won a real nice chair, table, footstool that was embroidered. She also won Reserve Champion in her age division and received a digital camera. Plus she won 100# of Strategy and $75 in gas cards! Its expensive to show at these shows, but if you win, the prizes are super.
We had a heck of a thunderstorm last night and I was worried about them staying in the trailer. They took cover in one of the barns at the fairgrounds. With the high winds, I was glad that they rolled the awning up.
Sounds like little miss Alison cleaned up! Good for her! :-)
Boy, Alison is doing outstanding. And those are great prizes, quite a haul.
I’m sorry you didn’t get pictures.
You shouldn’t feel bad. You got the two momma cats spayed and got most of the kittens a better life. Also you’ve got a very good chance of saving the other two.
The kittens that got away are probably the fastest ones and the ones most likely to survive in the woods. Their momma has them in a safe place now and you’ll see them soon when they come for food.
Congratulations on calming down the new litter. I can’t believe you got them sitting in your lap so soon. Are they purring too??
Yeah - I’m getting purrs out of them when I sit with them. Just got done playing with them a little. Trying to get them to the point they can play with the other kittens and run around, I’m just still a little reluctant to let them go and get under things. ;~)
Hey - just saw on our news that you’re having some mean looking storms. Are you all right out there?
Yeah, just a little rain here.
Ah - you must be at the edge of it then. Good.
It’s chilly here... clear, but got down to 40 degrees last night.
It looks like the kiddens from the first litter go up to the cage where the new kittens are. Do they get along then? Is there any curiosity? Any hissing?
There’s been hissing. I was surprised at that.... but they’re getting better. Need to get them mingled, they’re going to the same home, a couple of them.
I was just over on the other forum looking at the pictures. These new kittens are just so tiny compared with the earlier litter.
Don’t worry about those other kitties. Cats are very smart and able to live in the woods. Their mom cat rounded them up and you’ll see them one of these days soon.
It rained just enough to make it miserably humid this afternoon.
Oh ugh. Sorry. Anything going on with you this week to speak of? I’ll likely be spending some of it mowing. :~)
I’d like to think we’ll actually do something with the horses soon.
If they aren’t putting us on, they are nuts :)
The dog would be safest running alongside, if not - then teach him to ride behind the rider. Good heavens, they are riding drafts - plenty big enough butt for a dog to sit/lay on.
As a matter of fact, yes...this is our Green Corn Festival Weekend coming up.
I’m looking forward to it.
Ah yes, the green corn. SO... are you going to sit in front of the building with all Larry’s old buddies and watch the festivities? :~) That will be a bittersweet time, I’m sure.
I think about ya. Sure glad I got to meet him.
Clowns on parade. :~)
That is pretty nuts and hey! That dog is a herding dog! He is supposed to be able to herd cows, sheep or what ever. If he can't stay out of the way of livestock feet then he no one can!
