Just to maybe get him a tetanus booster, depending on when he last had his shots.
Yes, I did need to pull the shoes, I think. I think that's the only reason it's getting better. I couldn't get to it before.
Bay’s hooves look like they are responding very well to treatment. I never heard of that product, but it sure looks like it is working.
Oh dear. I remember her picture. She looked a lot like Duchess’s Tuffy.
Very very sad.
Yeah - thanks! Woo hoo! The reads on the internet about it claim it’ll cure darn near anything... from cuts and scrapes to toenail fungus on people!
He just had a tetnus shot this spring. He’s good in that area.
I’m glad Bay’s feet are doing better. The picture looks great.

Well, hopefully it won’t bother him again... (Harley’s foot I mean!)
How far in did it go?
Not real far, basically just the tip, 1/8-1/4 inch..
I pressed on the spot hard, once the nail was out he didn’t react at all. I just don’t think there is anyway to get meds in the puncture.
Becky
Yeah - what’s done is done probably, on getting any meds in it... but hopefully he’ll be just fine. He’s got a good young strong immune system. :~)
Hope Harley and Bay are both at 100% soon.

It's hard to tell on them but horse on the left at least in the first picture is a varnish app, the second picture is a snowflake with a blanket, and the third horse from the right on the last picture is a leopard app. :)
So this is the filly that got killed at the trainer’s? She sure was a pretty thing. It’s a real shame.
Cool pictures Duchess! It’s hard to imagine that those times and that way of life really weren’t all that long ago.
Is that not the longest-legged, poorest looking mule you've ever seen?! And unless the person behind the plow is a boy, and I don't think he is, it's a pretty darned tall one too. I just can't imagine having to try to make a living doing that kind of work. But people who had a mule in those days were considered very fortunate because a lot of people didn't even have that to help them.
Yes, that is the filly. She didn’t actually get killed, but they had the vet put her down. My friend did not go, as she didn’t want to see her. She breeds to some high priced studs, so I am wondering if she had the filly insured.
Cool old pictures. So hard to imagine what kind of life those people led. So many things we take for granted, were not even invented.
Going to be real hot today, so I think I will stay in and put up tomatoes. We are going camping and riding this weekend, so I better get it done.
Well, weatherwise, it’s pretty nice around here. We’re having our first sub-90* day in about a month. It is supposed to rain later, but that’s ok coz we sure need it. We got a little bit yesterday evening too. Hopefully we’re finally coming out of this blasted drought we’ve been in all summer!
. . . and that mule is NEVER going to fill out unless they get him some rations! Talk about Meager Manger Syndrome . . . although a lot of people now keep their mules too fat, that one is definitely TOO skinny!
We did not get a drop! Lost of thunder and lightening though. It did cool down quite a bit and there was a great breeze.
Oh man, I remember when you posted pics of that filly. She was lovely, that’s so sad.
