“We just had to beat the beagle”
Is that your euphemism for....oh, wait, you’re literally talking about beating a dog. Nevermind.
Does he have a brand he likes?
??? These pictures showed up last night when I was sleepwalking but not now ? They’re just blank. NO red x or anything.
I was going to comment that those people didn’t have near enough truck for that trailer. It looks like a Jeep Cherokee or something pulling a big stock trailer. I can’t imagine. Is it because there aren’t big hills I wonder? I mean, around here, you’d just never see that.
Oh - and good morning everyone :~)
Well, we didn't really ~beat~ the beagle, but I did do a lot of yelling and slapping. He actually barfed up the bun that was still in his throat. The sucker had eaten it whole.
It was a Dodge Durango, and yes, that trailer with two horses in it was way to much for that vehicle. I don’t call those trucks:). Both Mack and I commented that the front tires looked barely on the ground.
I’m not sure why those pictures aren’t showing up...
I’ve been out getting some video of Harley lunging. I’m going to get it loading now. I’m going to go ride a bit. Julia called and really wants to go. The farrier can’t make it till Thurs. So I’m going to duck tape the shoes, and just stay on the smoothest easiest trails for about an hour.
Becky
Good luck, I hope his shoes stay on! :~)
Becky, I can't see any of your pictures today. Yesterday, I could see the previous trail ones.
Frog, nice ride pictures and video. The water would sure have felt good for those horse.
We didn't win any big money at the casino, but it was fun. The horse race track is opening on Sept. 1st, so we will be going back for that. This is a new place, not too far over the PA line.
The site that I put my pictures on must be having problems, because I can’t get it to load at all. Here is a video of Harley lunging this morning. It’s not all that great, it’s a bit difficult holding a camera, a lunge whip, and the lunge line:) He knows if I don’t have the whip, even tho I never have to use it.

Oh cool, I can see the videos! Very nice.
I know what it’s like to try to lunge and hold camera :~)
At least with Bay I don’t need the whip. I have more trouble with him getting him to ~stop~
With Cyn, though, no whip, no need to go. :~)
When you watch that video yourself, can you freeze frame it on landing and look frame by frame? I can with my player, but I’m having trouble saving it to my own computer to do that, because it’s playing in flash. I’ll have to figure out if there’s a way. Looking at it in realtime though, I think he looks sound and landing heel first. Only you’d know if he looks good according to his normal though. What do you think?
Well, no I don’t know how to freeze frame it on landing, I’ll look into it, I figured out how to do the video:)
Here’s one more. It maybe I’m just not filming long enough to really see what he is doing, and I can’t watch him to see what he is doing and film at the same time.
Here’s one more I don’t know if it will really show anything different, other then he is going the other way.

Oh, and I should add also, he looks like a nice slow WP horse in these videos, which is what I want him to do on a lunge line because of competitions. I’ve trained him to go really slow so he doesn’t have to reach a high level of animation after the ride.
He moves out a lot nice when I’m riding him. He’s a lot different. I know you all might be wondering about his big stride I’ve been talking about he really does have one, just not on the lunge line:)
Becky
That link isn’t workin’!
I think that’s my fault. I think I messed up the loading. I’ll try again.
Becky
Huh... well, I can see that now... and actually the frame the video begins on looks a little ‘toe first’ doesn’t it? I still haven’t figured out how to export video from photobucket so I can slow it down. Can you email this second video to me in it’s original form?
What do you think about how he’s moving in that one?
Good morning - no Indy’s not the least bit particular but since everyone around here usually drinks Coors Light or MDG (?) that’s what he gets. I don’t drink beer so I can’t remember what the second one is but I think it has those three initials :)
I can't even figure out how to send pictures over e-mail:\
I've thought it looked like he did land toe first sometime, not all the time. I do think part of the problem in not really seeing what I'm feeling is he moves so measured on the lunge line, and I have trouble getting him to pick it up because of trying to hold the camera and all at the same time. I'll try to get Mack to film while I lunge latter tonight when it's cooled off some.
And also we have to keep in mind his shoes are loose now, I don't know how that would affect him.
The duct tape did not stay on for more then a few minutes out today. We did nothing but walk very carefully tho, but I still felt like he wasn't moving as smooth/soft as he did before. But I do wonder if the fact that the ground has gotten very hard now could be part of it too.
Becky
You know my old vet told me to give Rusty 2 cans of beer a day when I was trying to get him sweating:). He was funny, he seemed to like it at first, but after a while he wouldn’t drink it at all.
