I’m looking forward to it too... and we need to firm up the dates and start shopping for tickets!

Back... I just had to pick up a handicapped commode thing for my friend Lisa because she’s at the hospital in Seattle and the place here closed at five and she wasn’t going to make it.... apparently her partner’s son was in a bad wreck with a broken pelvis.

I’m feeling a bit better about things and thanks for all the kind words. They mean so much to me.

I took Mina off the market and I’m working with her daily. She’s catching on fast.

Well, I am glad to see you back... Mina’s an awfully pretty project for you. Will you start her yourself you think? Or will you send her to a trainer?

I’m gonna do it myself....I think. I’ll have to wait for that moment of stepping into the stirrup for the first time to know for sure if I can do it.

I’ve got her lunging and backing up on voice command, we’re going for long walks in my scary forest with all the junk (old house and barns, phone booth, propane tanks, etc) and she’s going through it without a hitch. I introduced her to my neighbors steers, no problems. The only problem so far is walking her near my neighbors mare pasture where she has 5 or 6 mares pastured. They took off running and bucking, that freaked Mina out but she didn’t take off, just pranced around with her tail stuck up in the air.

Well heck, that’s pretty good. I think that would get Bay prancing around with his tail in the air too :~)

Yeah, you can’t hardly blame them when they see all their horsey buddies running away. They gotta be retreating for some reason so they think they need to get the heck outta Dodge, too. Bud is the only horse I’ve ever owned that wouldn’t look twice at his buddies running off.

He’s the one who would get picked off by the lion, I guess.

He sure is!

How’s your old pony doing... and the palomino mare... and the rest of your crew? Don’t you have a donkey?

George the pony is doing ok. He’s thin and old looking but he’s not in any discernable pain.

I’ve been riding the palomino mare, she’s doing well. Needs some work but never bucks or does anything stupid.

Charlee the donkey is doing fine, too. She likes to be sprayed with water on hot days so I’ve been doing that every day. Miniature horses, too. They absolutely love the water.

I saw that photography contest on the horse.com forum. I need to go through my pics and see if I have anything worth entering. That head shot of Bay is the winner, though.

Well thanks... I think it’s striking, but then I’m biased.

I know you’ve got some good pictures... I remember one of George looking straight on that I think is adorable in the pony category :~)

That picture of Bay needs to be enlarged and framed. It really is a piece of art.

I’ll go back and look through my picture files and see what I can find.

I’m so glad you decided to hang on to her for awhile. She’s a beauty, that’s for sure.

I entered some of my pictures over there. It’s frustrating because it takes each page sooooo loooonnnnngggg to load on dial up.

Thanks, Duchess. I’m taking her training very slowly so hopefully I won’t screw things up. She’s got an incredible memory, if I mess things up even a little bit, there’ll be trouble.
