I also hope Mark doesn't do this. Mark is his own legacy (Valvoline and Viagra) and doesn't need DEI to cement his historical reference point.

Accordint to ESPN, it is a done deal. Martin will finish out this year for DEI, AND race 22 races in 2009 for DEI, AND take over driver development duties for DEI.

Hmmm...not sure what to make of this. My feeling is that MM is a family friend with both Sr. and Jr. so that means with Teresa, too. I’m tempted to just sit back and let things play out. MM is one of the few really good guys in NASCAR. No guile, no agenda, just a good ol’ boy. If he goes to DEI, I think it’s the way it’s supposed to be. I’m always going to be in MM’s corner, just because he has earned it through years of being a total class act.
