Actually, the outer hull picked up quite a bit of rust and staining from our long immersion in ocean water.

I figured, if we ever got desperate for Oxygen, we could send out some hapless keel-scrapers to salvage the rust.

I actually had the distinct pleasure of spending a week scraping sea life off of my boats screw. We could only use plastic scrapers, as anything harder could damage the screw itself, resulting in a noisier screw.
