I thought it was a lunar eclipse?
What am I getting NASA Science News for if they can’t give me the right emails?
What ever it is, it’s happening just before dawn.
You are correct. I just drove down the local highway and had a big beautiful full moon swim into view.
Outside of Hollywood, and "Out to Sea", there's no way that moon is going to be able to get between the Earth and the Sun in one day. It would take at least two weeks.
The eclipse will be a lunar eclipse, very early in the morning, East Coast time.
Still, it gives everyone a chance to note that the shadow of the Earth is round, as it covers the moon. Proof that the world is spherical.
