I always carry manuals of whatever device I’m using. I can’t remember things, and I know it, so it’s just insurance for me.

On the last trip I was glad to have a PDF of the manual on my laptop!

I usually put the manuals on the hard drive, too, in case I forget where I put the hard copy.

It paid off this week. I have a file folder of favorite patterns to crochet and everything in it is dog-eared. I found it a couple of months ago, and promptly misplaced it.

Since I’m going to be staying with a life-long friend when I go to the class reunion, I wanted to make one of the doilies for her kitchen table as thanks for the lodging. I’ve driven myself NUTS trying to recall where I put it.

Then I looked at my documents, and there it was. So I printed it out and I’m good to go!

(I’ve learned the hard way that my brain can’t be trusted to do the things I need it to do, so I find ways to trick it.)
