In the 1st season of Dr Who, the Doc took a trip to the year 5 Billion and then traveled in the past to meet Charles Dickens. In season 2, the TARDIS flew to the year 5 Billion again and back pedalled to meet Queen Victoria. Last week, the Doc took Martha to meet William Shakespeare. Can you guess where Friday’s episode is going to take place?

In writing Gridlock, Russell T Davies wanted to cram 3 ideas into a 45 minute show. They were:

1) A commentary on urban decay
2) Giving an old enemy from the classic series a new look.
3) Having the Face of Boe share a distrubing secret with the Doctor.

Gridlock is fast paced and enjoyable. Although the episode doesn’t make much sense when you think it about, it is a fun episode. I give Gridlock a grade of B.
