I saw it as Sirius was so distracted, and called Harry “James” without remembering exactly who he was with at the time. Xena, I know why you are asking, and I think it was left vague enough that it can go either way in the final story.

I saw it as Sirius was so distracted, and called Harry “James” without remembering exactly who he was with at the time.It was the exact phrase he used earlier in the movie when James disarmed and inverted Snape. I think that was supposed to jar Harry a bit.
