I’d suggest tracking information about the manufacturer. Even if there is no longer a label with pertinent information, someone should be able to identify it as one or the other.

Then there should be a serial number somewhere.

Putting these pieces together should get the year of manufacture. What else would you like?

Heck, we have buzzards here in Maryland. I saw some birds in the median strip and thought I was looking at wild turkeys.
