I’m re-reading all the Harry Potter books, getting ready for the next movie and book. I was initially reluctant to read “childrens books” but have thoroughly enjoyed them. I don’t believe they are satanic, blah, blah.

The IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament

It gives a great background, verse by verse, about what's happening, culturally and historically, at the time of Scripture.

The last book I read was “The Shiva Option” by David Weber. Right now, I’m not reading a book; I’m actually writing one, or attempting to anyway.

I also just finished Revelation, now that I think about it. I don’t normally read two at once, but I was on a roll...

Very "light" reading at the moment. "Roxanna of the Amish". It actually was written first by the grandson of an Irish girl who was raised by an Amish woman. Not much story line, but it is an excellent window to the life and religion of the Amish.

My favorite fiction author at this time is Ted Dekker. Strange plots, as in "Th3ee". My favorite non-fiction writer is Thomas Sowell.

My favorite book of all time, of course, is the Bible.

You know, a few years back when I rode the train, I read constantly. Always non-fiction, primarily American history, in particular the westward expansion years, and the run up years to the civil war: 1820s-1850s.

I miss it now but don't have time. I read "Guitar Player" magazine one trip to the bathroom at a time, and James Taranto's Best of the Web, and some freeper posts, and that's about it.

Walter Isaacson’s new Einstein biography is what I’m reading. I’m listening to the audio version of Richard Dawkins’ “The God Delusion”. Hitchens made the same argument better than Dawkins, IMHO.

I am always reading the Bible and Dante's Commedia at any given time.

Other than that I am reading "Moneyball."

I haven’t READ it yet, but am poised to read “Infidel” by Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Also skimming “Leaving Microsoft to Change the World” by John Wood.

I’m scared to read the first (nightmares?) so I’m still “planning” to read it :)

I just finished “The Riddle and the Knight” by Giles Milton.
It is a book about the travels of a medieval knight called Sir John Mandeville (he wrote a book about his travels. 1322-1356 a.d.). Giles Milton retraces the knight’s travels as best he can thru Jerusalem, Byzantium, Syria, Egypt, etc. and tries to verify his writings and life.
