I was watching PTI with my son yesterday afternoon while they discussed this. I said that I still didn't think the doping charges made sense b/c you have to take testosterone for months for it to enhance your performance. Taking it for one day would not have any effect. His tests the day before and the day after were both negative.
My son said that he thought it looked very bad and that I was probably the only person left in America who still thinks he is innocent. I reminded him that a year ago, the very same sports guys were trashing the Duke lacrosse team and saying that they should come clean (sound familiar?). As my son goes to Duke, he immediately conceded my point.
Is Landis innocent? I happen to still think he is but I certainly will not accept the media’s “judge and jury” assessment. They have no credibility in my book.

I would also describe LaMond as bitter. I don’t know what he is bitter about but you get the feeling that he wants to destroy anyone who succeeds in cycling from the US.

As far as "gay" little shorts and hats...they're athletic equipment. The long black shorts cut aerodynamic drag and reduce chafing. They are lined with ergonomic padding that enables riders to pedal more than 100 miles per day. The "hat" you mentioned is actually a helmet and helps prevent injury in the event of a crash.
