I don't recall where I used it in my comments (if you want to point out the post, I'll look at it), but I'll answer it in the context of its usage in the Bible.

These hybrids were referred to by those people (of that day) as "men of renown". The Bible describes how they came about and how they were referred to. It's a pretty simple understanding.

Here's the verse that says this, from the New American Standard Version...

Genesis 6:4

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward,
when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they
bore {children} to them. Those were the mighty men who {were}
of old, men of renown.

That sounds like a good thing but it isn't. They were geber, giants, hybrids, probably the "heroes" of Greek mythology. Other articles about them said some had double rows of teeth, 6 fingers, etc.
