This is a hard concept for collectivists to understand.

When an individual willingly and knowingly engages in a criminal act, that individual, by his actions, has forfeit any rights he may have.

You are saying that a person must be convicted of a crime to lose rights.

I’m saying, when you choose to break the law, you also by default have demonstrably forfeit your rights. And you know it.

When a criminal points a weapon at another person, he has already taken into consideration that he has basically declared war on that individual. And by his act he acknowledges that his life is forfeit if things go badly. One need not be "convicted" of a crime. He need only commit the crime.
