sorry ...getting here VERY late to say hi to everyone.

snugs dad has been in the hospital for MANY weeks putting additional pressure on her already insane schedule/life.

She is rarely at any threads & is fortunately still able to post the Dose most of the time but her buddies jump in & help her

Enjoyed watching the NFL draft & Cleveland got two good men in the first round. I understand we traded away next years first round to do that.

The Cav’s play off game went well.. always nice to win & I surely LOVE to watch LeBron do his magic. Monday will be challenging. Game at 7 (and I don’t have cable at home) and 24 at 9. If I am smart I will try to figure out how to do the built in VCR on the TV & watch the game at the normal sports bar locally

Good show.. IS THIS FOR GOOD? ... I thought it was this weekend..

How exciting. moving is a lot of work!

Now they will expect you two to be at all the FReeps & I am so jealous that you are close enough to the great DC FReepers. They are treasures.

sorry for the delay in responding Nancy. I am glad you had a good marriage.. so few of us do/did. I guess there were good years for me & good times.. some how eventually things can go south to quickly & so painfully.

I never did know the story or your marriage.. there are divorced, widowed & never marrieds who visit with us & unless they share, we simply don’t know.

Well groan, here it is 4 AM & I should be sleeping but here I am at this computer & getting sadder & sadder as I have been scrolling THE THREAD. I even cried. I read the last 1000 or so posts from today.

Hi Dolly,

I hope you’re having a good day after some sleep. It upsets me to think of you alone at the computer at 4 in the morning feeling sad... :(

Somewhere, recently, I read that late night on the internet brings out silliness, anger and upset that probably wouldn’t occur earlier in the day. I guess we should all make a habit of logging off by midnight or so...but, then, what would stout, and JRios, and others do with themselves?! ...lol (just a rhetorical question, stout, no need for a demonstration!)

My husband, who was quite a bit older than me, died last fall after 10 years of declining health. The last 2 1/2 years he had a condition that slowly sapped his strength and lead to his death.

Our marriage had all the usual (but unique to our circumstances,) stresses and challenges. Staying together and working through the difficulties made us both better people. We were side by side on the day of our wedding and I was priveleged and so very thankful to be with him, at his side, the moment he died.

I wish the same for all who marry-—the fortitude to withstand the tests and ending up better and stronger for it and together ‘til the end.

Thank goodness we never dealt with drug abuse, alcohol issues or mental illness. Any of those problems might have meant an entirely different outcome.

Nancy

Gentlemen (and lady), I believe Dave will have the honor of hosting next week if I’m not mistaken? Sorry I haven’t been around more, I thought I’d have an entire weekend with nothing to do, and as it turned out I ended up getting busy. Funny how that works.

Thanks again Dolly!

That’s okay, we’ll work something out. I am working graveyard next weekend, so I’ll have to wait until at least the following week.

Yup. Starting the new job tomorrow.

Question:

Do the architects that design apartments not realize that PEOPLE OWN FURNITURE, AND WOULD PREFER TO GET IT INSIDE THEIR APARTMENT WITHOUT DESTROYING EITHER THE FURNITURE, THE APARTMENT, THEMSELVES, OR ALL THREE?

This past weekend I set a new world record - I actually went out on a date from Match.com where the woman was actually thinner than in her posted pictures of herself. She was actually "slender" as she claimed in her profile. We are trying to confirm, but I don't think has ever happened in online dating history.

I can’t believe what is happening to Free Republic.

I may not support Rudy Giuliani, but I definitely do not support the massive banning of good-standing long-time freepers because they might consider voting for him.

What happened to the intelligent debate that has always been allowed on this forum?

This is not the kind of thing my husband supports when he goes off to war.

This is a crying shame and I can no longer support this site.

It is time to move on.

I will miss you all.

Goodbye and good luck—see you on greener pastures.

R.I.P. Free Republic.

Please add me to the singles’ list. I’m a new widow, not ready for dating yet but someday soon.
