Horses are some of the sanest people I know.

Yes, Publius, and your Emperor, Caligula, appointed his favorite horse, Incitus ( "sexually aroused") to the Senate. Unlike the good people of Massachusetts, he had the sense to send the entire horse.

Apparently, this horse left a deposit.

Actually, the horse's name was Incitatus ("Speedy") - he was a racehorse.

This little fellow looks to be a Haflinger pony - from the Austrian Tyrol. They are small, sturdy, willing and (as you can see) very patient with silly humans.
