Update on Jane.
First time I’ve been home to post on this thread. Bless all the prayful freepers who’ve come to Jane’s aid with prayer. As you know she was to undergo a simple D&C. There was a perforation and so the physician decided to go thru the belly button to make sure there was no bleeding. This required that she be intubated. They had great trouble getting the tube in and somehow in the process collapsed her lung, about the same time she developed something called A-fib. Seems the top of the heart started quivering rather than beating correctly. Then couldn’t do the belly button thing and had to do an incision like a regular hyst would have. Then a chest tube because of the lung. Then couldn’t take the vent tube out due to extreme swelling. They told us they couldn’t guarantee she hadn’t had a stroke or HA during this whole process. It was a very shocking thing for a woman in what we thought was good health to have a simple 20 minute procedure.
Now for the wonderful news, due to prayer I’m sure, and great care by the medical professionals. They were able to remove the tube yesterday and although she is still sedated we were able to get enough response to know that she hasn’t had a stroke. Still waiting on the heart report. She’s still in ICU but doing very well. Thank you for all the prayers. Our God is truly awesome!

Prayers for Jane, but please, explain something to me—was this “simple D&C” an abortion, or some other procedure with the same initials? I can’t understand why a 60ish lady would need an abortion, so I’m assuming it was indeed something else. Either way, prayers from Michigan for Jane.
It was for something else.
She thanks everyone for their prayers and asks that you continue to pray for her.
She is "possibly" getting out of the hospital today, and is eager to go home.
BUT:
The results from the D&C are in and it is cancer. Now the big problem is that they have discovered a serious heart problem. Under normal circumstances they’d probably just do a hyst and that would be the end of it. But due to the horrible problems they had with the D&C they don’t want to do surgery again, the heart problem makes that a last resort solution. They will be looking at all the possibilities, radiation being one, and make a decision on how to proceed.
(I)Pepperdog thank everyone too. Jane and her husband are our best friends and it has been devastating to all of us to learn of her illness.
