Actually ... things are never quite as “nicey-nice” as they seem, are they?
OK, there’s nothing wrong with someone getting paid for their speeches. There, let me get that out of the way.
And there’s nothing wrong with someone who is a *motivational speaker* having an agent to do their bookings for them.
And there’s nothing wrong with a passionate mom trying to raise money to continue the fight for finding her daughter in a foreign country.
To me, there *is* something wrong with a *motivational speaker* taking money for using his daughter’s murder as a way to promote himself in whatever his next endeavor might be, when he never did one single thing towards implementing a foundation he *said* he would establish and run, with money he solicited from the public and he told the public would be earmarked from sales of his and his wife’s book about their daughter’s murder.
*And hence,* there’s nothing inherently wrong about one of these *motivational speakers* hooking up with another one of these *motivational speakers* by meeting at their same speaker’s bureau agent’s office.
It may get sticky, tho, when Beth starts screaming for justice against “an innocent until proven guilty” suspect and JR starts getting defensive at the podium and decks her!
I’m trying to be nice.
