Where did you find a list of those who have been banned, suspended or resigned from FR? I have been trying to read as much of that thread to find out, but it is so long. I hate Howlin, Peach, and PhiKapMom are gone...I enjoyed reading their posts. I’m relatively new - just over a year - and I have not had any unpleasant comments from any of them. Hopefully, this will get worked out, and some apologies will be forthcoming. From what little I have read (over a 1,000 posts from over 13,000), Jim Robinson allowed some freepers to remain on the forum who were really egging this spat on, and their posts, along with JR’s, were not in keeping with what I understood was expected of Freepers!

Apparently there is a list of Freepers who can be viscious and ugly without any comment from anyone and others who can be perceived as a troll (for one ‘bad’ post even though they have been posting for years with no trouble) I had a friend who was banned and tried to explain a misunderstood post and never got a response from JR. It made me hesitant to get an ID and actually start posting.
I have intentionally avoided the candidate threads, but spent a couple of hours tonight looking through the thread that seems to have initiated the bans/resignations. I skipped around, mostly in the last third of the thread. My fingertips have been bitten bloody to keep my thoughts to myself.
To avoid bringing the rancor to our thread of comparative calm, I will not mention any names.
At post #9266 I found what now appears to be an incomplete list of names of the departed. Posts #13908 and #14005 (without references made to specific individuals) describe well my feelings on the subject. The use of some of the names of those no longer able to respond as ‘poster children’ for all things wrong at FR is deplorable.
FWI, you are right about whose house we’re in. If requested not to smoke, I would extinguish my cigarette. But if my purse was searched and my smoking materials discarded, I would not be a happy camper.
