I’ve asked myself all those questions, and it’s the most puzzling thing of all.I’ve tended to discount Daniel using drugs, but can’t rule it out entirely. Martino and Daniel’s friends hopefully will have the most info. I do discount Jackie Hatten, as I don’t think she was a friend of Anna’s for several years. I think Anna didn’t want anything to do with her. Jackie IS friends of Virgie’s and has told the PI a number of things which he repeated in interview, so I don’t know about him, either. How could Virgie know Daniel never tried/took drugs if she hadn’t had personal interaction with him for some time? Jackie telling her that means little to me. If Daniel did try drugs, I bet it was fairly recently and he may well not have been an abuser in the sense that we know Anna was. But, I just do not know.
Don’t forget what Larry said about Daniel stealing pills from Anna’s purse, either.
I know there were reports floating around that Daniel’s jeans were “missing,” but in other reading ( sorry, don’t have links) it appears that was not the case and the police did have them. Anyone know more?
As to the pills in the hospital bed, I’m going to wait until I hear testimony or reports of the testimony about that. That’s another thing that has floated around and supposedly comes from the Bahamian police report. Anyone know if that report is public, verbatim?
Slight correction: Larry said Anna *said* there were some drugs missing when Daniel had some friends over.
I don't necessarily believe that, and don't automatically assume Daniel took anything. She might have been lying to cover her own usage and refills, or one of the other kids who *is* a drug-stealer might've done it.
As to the police reports about Daniel's death, People Mag had the first story with some details. It might still be on their site - I don't ever go there, but I'm sure it would be in google if it is still posted.

larry 'said'; larry's said a lot of things - like anna was blind with drugs when pregnant - but she wasn't when she was with the shelleys - larry is protecting HK, not Daniel - Anna never told anyone but larry the purse story? anna hired Wecht because shedidnt' believe there were any drugs in Daniel at all !

BROWN: Well, last summer, Anna and Larry definitely had a relationship. They both admitted that they were intimate. I don`t think that there`s any reason to believe that there`s not a possibility that he is the father of Dannilynn. What people should be skeptical of the fact is that, you know, both Anna and Larry were known for being partiers. And you`ll see lots of pictures of them partying at the club, both looking like they`re having a lot of fun. And now he`s kind of, like, assassinating her character. Anna made a lot of money doing the reality shows and things like that, but that has kind of waned. And with the death of Daniel, there`s a lot of new money being presented. But I don`t know. I`ve never seen Daniel take anything. As a matter of fact, if anything, he had a deep hatred for any kinds of drugs. Because, as is widely reported, Anna Nicole did have some challenges back eight to 10 years ago. And it was Daniel that really saved Anna`s life, or at least that`s what Anna says and that`s what Howard says, so it`s quite surprising.
What could have happened, I have no idea. I know Anna wants to know.
