The one thing that we don’t know is how much of a role the judge has played in how the players are responding to one another.
HKS KNEW he was destined to lose his bid for custody based on his name on the birth certificate. It is also quite possible that he was ordered to cooperate with LB to visit the child at Horizons or face immediate removal of the child. Of those choices HKS would have taken the path that afforded him the opportunity to improve his horrendous image and fit right into his delay tactics.
Virgie also has figured out that custody is not an option but now wants a finger in the pie. My guess is that judge ordered HKS to allow LB to let her visit with the baby.
LB knows that Virgie is going to be a lifelong threat and that if she can keep her microscope trained on his life and finances she will jump at the chance to unseat him as custodial parent. A life dealing with her and Tex meddling would be miserable in my opinion.
It is all so very, very sad in so many ways.
