I saw very little of it today, but I did see her sitting with her arms crossed, looing bored and chewing gum in court. I said to myself— oh boy, that’s not going to look good to the jury.

This whole case has bothered me. Supposedly, she's totally under her husband's thumb, yet, she's in control of the family finances. The few controlling husbands I have ever been acquainted with held on to the $$ and checkbook, therefore, the wife would have to ask for $$. Alarms went off in my head when I heard her say Matthew made her take care of the $$. I'm bothered she had a private account at another bank about 20 miles from home in her name only that he wasn't aware of. She had tried to feather her own nest with that Nigerian $$ scam. That's what they had been arguing about -- her losing their nest egg (note it came out of their account). I am bothered by the fact that a shotgun "accidentally" fired (meaning it had been sitting around pumped and loaded with 3 children in the home). Her husband was shot in the back (not coming toward her in an aggressive manner), while he lie dying (with the oldest daughter watching) Mary walks over and unplugs the phone nearest to him. He didn't die instantly; he bled to death and was unable to call for help. If I'm not mistaken, she had made reservations prior to the murder for that beach motel she was apprehended at. There are too many things in my mind that don't add up with her story. Their 9 yr old girl testified she never saw Daddy mistreating Mom. She should have seen something. I was aware from the age of four that my parent's marriage was rocky and was somewhat physical. You might be able hide this stuff from people outside the household, but not within it. If she didn't want to be a minister's wife she should have walked away.
