I can’t answer for what Jrabbit meant, but there was a picture (I think with Shane Gibson) way back in the threads where there was a port on her right hand.
Any one of those with a medical background could have installed a port. Maybe for convenience?

And they could have removed it before 911 was called. The site of the IV could have easily been over-looked by the ME, especially if they had removed and didn’t mention it to Perper.
