So glad you enjoy them! Really!

No I've never tried doing boxes for others - like for mimentos of a favorite scene from their life - but I know others do this.

That would be fun to do if I were retired and rich - and I'm not - either one of those....LOL.

As far as making them to sell - well that was a thought back when doing them - but I never thought I could get paid what it took in terms of labor and costs of all that went into them so I never took up with that idea.

So they were just a private joy. Now am glad to be able to share them with you.

(AC - meant to include you in these pings - check out previous posts re: other miniature room boxes)

Here's one more closeup. This is of the Sitting Room. I must say this little digital camera did pretty well for these little rooms - I was surprised. Not fantastic, but good.

The Sitting Room was the first room I made. It has a fireplace (look back on the first pic) that flickers. The cabinet here has some more fun little things in it like miniature HAND BLOWN glass pitchers (from Williamsburg); a ceramic pitcher; a pewter pitcher and pewter cups. Notice the Picture of George Washington on the wall - he was well known and admired by this captain and is highlighted 3 times in these room boxes. Now if you look at the chair there is an oxymoronic little stitched pillow that says "DEACS"....a bit of fun I did after finding a mini UNC pillo and a mini-Wake Forest Deacs pillow. Put them in this Revolutionary War era house just to have fun....can't take this work that seriously, you know? Oh you can't see them well but the little ceramic urns on the corner of the mantel (one on each corner) are mini-treasures that I cherish also.
