My cat has learned there is no "me" in "meow", and when he wants my attention, and he usually gets it, by howling "ow!".

My friend's cat actually properly cries. 'WAAAAAAAH!!!!!...... u-WAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHH!!!'
