The '57 Chev came with a nice 289 cube V-8. Put the power pack option on and it was a hot car. Could even get fuel injection, but it was mechanical and didn't always perform that well.

Do you recall when they came out with the 327 SS? Seemed funny to be in a full-sized car with a floor shift.

The '57 may have had a 265 V8 the 289 was a Ford, Chevy made a 283.

If memory is correct. The '58 283 was a bit different then later models, namely it had side motor mounts and a rope real seal.
