KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - In a tragic twist to a familiar story, a teenager who had sex with his married 30-year-old teacher was fatally shot outside the woman's home, and authorities have charged the woman's husband.
"You see all this stuff with teachers involved with their students. It just comes up time after time on the national news," said Norman McLean, father of suspect Eric McLean. "Well, this is the first time where one has actually died over it."

Moral of the story ... Don't sleep with another man's wife.

Ok, if it wasn't adultery, then what was it?
Your definition fits this case perfectly.
Unless you are trying to say that the wife committed adultery but not the boyfriend.
Hmmmmm. If this guy's got a good attorney he may be able to make a case for self defense. Not that I'd convict him without it. Hell, I'd have given him a pass if he offed both of them.
What was the teen doing at this guy's house? Rubbing his face in it?
Correct. And he wasn't arrested.
His development was, for sure.
What? Am I the only one having a hard time understanding just who was "rocking" on Friday night?
Only because they don't own shotguns.
A million times worse is when the boy shows up at your house and demands to see your wife.
This numbnuts had "Shoot Me" written all over him.
I suspect the wife set it up, maybe have the two guys fight over her or worse.
Like I said; I don't condone the killing, but I understand. Some kid does your wife, then comes to your home and further rubs your face in it... Of course there's going to be some violence involved...
"Hello? Darling? Yeah, come on over. My husband's not home and we can make hot monkey love all afternoon. Oh, and bring your gun."
A weak attempt at definitional revisionism. According to the definition, anyone who engages in a voluntary act of sexual intercourse involving a married person and someone other than his or her spouse is an adulterer. This standard definition is completely independent of which party is married or whether they even know the other person is married.
