"I just hope youre not the type who needs a different handbag to match every pair of shoes or youll never be able to retire." Nope. Don't have time for it.

"entertainment" roomgasp ...

Well, actually I DON'T have a craft room, but I do have the space in the basement and would love to finish it and utilize it. Right now it is just sitting there collecting boxes and clutter.
Honestly, I haven't had time for any craft projects for a very long time, but I have done a variety of things, from embroidery, macrame and Indian jewelry to cake decorating, decoupage and scrapbooking. It is the scrapbooking I would most like to get back into....that, and decorating. My house is so boring. I would so love to be able to fix it up, but it takes time and/or money, neither of which I have much of these days. I think if I had the room set up for it and the space organized, I would be a lot more likley to work my way back into it. As far as decorating, I've always kinda had an eye and a feel for it, but I tend to be a bit obsessive with trying to get something "just right," so I get bogged down in the details. Not conducive to doing things in a time efficient manner. These were things that worked splendidly when I was a full-time homemaker, but not very well when most of my time is not my own.

I love decorating too, but like you, I’m pretty fussy about what I buy. When I see something that’s “right”, I’ll know it.
I like to keep it simple, though. I’m not a knick knack person or collector of anything. All it does is gather dust and make more work for me.
I’m sorry you don’t have time for the creative side of yourself, it can be so rewarding and relaxing. Scrapbooking sounds like a great idea! Maybe taking loads of pics of your daughter and grandson when they come to visit will inspire you to get back into it. Someday, I hope you can find the time. :)

Oh, I have plenty of pictures, old and new, to go into scrapbooks and I have huge amounts of scrapbooking supplies. I've got several scrapbooks that could be considered "nearly done." But then, I used to be able to devote a lot of time to it. Now, I'm doing good to find time to cook, shower, sleep and shop for shoes.
