I'm not so certain Priscilla Presley had the maturity to raise that child and Lisa Marie is/was very stuborn like her father only more sullen. I think being present when her father died has played a strong roll in her life.
I disagree about Priscilla. She may have been young, but she had the guts to get out of Elvis' world. Yes, they say she left him because of other women, but maybe she wanted to get her daughter out of the drug addled environment. Granted Lisa was allowed to visit her father. There probably wasn't much she could do about that unless she fought it which would expose his drug problem. I suppose it's possible Priscilla was counting on Vernon to protect Lisa Marie from being exposed to what Elvis was doing.
