As made up as Anna was, she was also not afraid to be 'natural'. Larry already said she was a different person around him when they were alone (not very often it seems). There was a political journalist who admitted he was smitten with her when he met her. Apparently she had an air about her. Even on her show, when she was lucid, she was funny and fun. I wouldn't have minded being around her, when she wasn't loopy anyway.
I also remember that Larry said that the first substantive time spent with her was at some sort of kids' camp. Maybe something relating to handicapped or something. Anyway, he made the point that she didn't wear make-up, pulled her hair up in a ponytail, etc. And, he was impressed with her "naturalness" and how genuine she seemed.
You hear that even from the media who interviewed her in her more lucid moments...that she was intelligent and had a very good sense of humor.
It's all sad.
