Maybe Anna had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) with a mix of prescription drugs in her system.
Risk factors include:
Menstruation
Use of barrier contraceptives such as a diaphragm or vaginal sponge
Tampon use (particularly if you leave on in for a long time)
Foreign bodies or packings (such as those used to stop nosebleeds)
Childbirth
Surgery
Current Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infection

IIRC, this is what Marshall's son died of back in the summer of 2006. Where was Stern or one of his ghouls when the Marshall son got sick? (The son who was fighting ANS in court)
I know its strange to even consider a connection, but what are the odds of 3 deaths in less than 9 months.

Toxic Shock Syndrome Symptoms

If it wasn't murder, Toxic shock syndrome is a good possibility, stl. Bit IF tho.
