It makes you wonder just how broke she was and why she did not pay her taxes even after they got the ET money right after Daniel died.
Why didn't Anna have an accountant?? She probably let Howard handle everything and we see how that turned out.
Cause she didn't pay bills (or HKS didn't) and they will just apply those taxes against the value of the house when it is sold...
